I'm at wits end on this. I need a simple smartphone - or smartphone-ish model - that is EVDO Rev.A, and can easily tether with Mac OSX on Sprint. I have SERO Plan. I just want to move up from a Sanyo 9000 to something that will work easily with a Mac, has a decent keypad (touchscreen not essential...) and reasonably large display.

Choices suggested have been Palm and BlackBerry. Can anyone help me choose what to buy?
I want to use usb-modem ideally vs. wifirouter or BT connection. There are some who say BlackBerry is easiest. If so, any particular model you'd suggest? Otherwise, would a Palm Pre
    work?

Much appreciation for any help. THis has been a minor nightmare esp. as i am just not into Windows Mobile phones and prefer something easier to tether to Mac occasionally....

    Thanks Alot!

    Mike

I think your best bet would be blackberry 8530, or blackberry tour. Then download an app to tether like tetherberry. I think tetherberry is like 30 bucks or something but it works really well. You may double check mac compatibility. Dont go with the palm pre unless you baby your phone. That phone breaks so easily...
