Trying doing a *228 - The phone should connect to a Verizon tower nearby.

I don't have verizon. I have straight talk which I believe is a trac phone tower. Is there a number like the *228 for other carriers? Or net 10 to try and get better reception on the phone i just purchased.

I know, but straight talk uses Verizon towers. Try *22891 is *228 doesn't work.

Try this...press star 22890, it will do everything you just listen. It will auto disconnect, then press star 73 you will hear beeps then disconnect (really fast) you now can get calls. It was an update...I have the same phone Samsung slider but I think it is universal. If you can't get calls all the sudden give it a try. Customer service helped me with this issue and no more problems.

They seem to have had problems with the servers.
