Do I need to unlock for AT&T phone on straight talk?

If I want to use a AT&T galaxy note 1 on straight talk do I need to unlock it? Thanks in advanced

I would just get the card and pop it in. If you get an error message then it needs to be unlocked (which one of the vendors on this site can help you with). If not then you're all good.

If a phone was carrier locked and it didn't have a sim card in it I wouldn't be able to navigate the workings of the phone would I ?
