I am relatively new to the world of cell phones. I have the cheapy nokia 6010 with T-Mobile. My connection during a call often seems to struggle. Basically, voices sound broken up very often. I am wondering if people think this is indicative of the phone or the service. I have some other friends who are fairly happy with T-Mobile.
How big of a difference would a different phone be in regards to the quality of the connection?
Or should I think about a different carrier and phone?
Any specific suggestions of phones from T-Mobile that would be better choices for this specific problem? Cost isn't that much of an issue if it fixes the problem. I feel better asking the question here rather than from a T-Mobile sales guy.
Thanks very much!!

you might want to try a different phone first if you are still in your trial period, and then if it doesnt work you might wanna move on to a different carrier, i would suggest taking out a samsung maybe, the c225 or the x475, or maybe try the nokia 3220, good luck

Change companies
I highly suggest switching to cingular. I've been with them for a few years now- and never had a problem.

Thanks very much for the replies!
Vidguy, trial period is over unfortunately.
Beads5, I was thinking of doing just what you have suggested. There is just some apprehension considering the 2 year contract, though. Just want to make sure things improve.
Thanks again.

Arctic1,
I have a new Samsung X-475 with T-Mobile also, and your reception issues ("voices sound broken up very often") sound just like mine. I use the hands-free earbud, but if I'm in the car it picks up a lot of road noise (so I am told by folks at the other end). This occurs right in the Twin Cities metro area, so I can't believe reception should be an issue.
I would also like to know whether the issue is T-Mobile or the phone.

Sound like a phone issue, on a lot of the newer phones there is an option to reduce the background noise but because I've never had that problem I've never researched it I'll look around and see what |I can find and get back to you on this.
