    Class Action Suit?

My husband & I feel your pain. We didn't get taken for that much $$, but it was $700. Thankfully we paid it with American Express and now are in the process of disputing the charge with AmEx.

My beef with T-Mobile is their negligence in activating service for an adult child without authorization on the account and then when the adult child does not pay, they turned around and billed us. That is just wrong. If we can't get the charge off through AmEx, we will definitely hire an attorney. At this point it is not about the money, it is the principal. You all know that T-Mobile, as well as other providers, do this all the time...

Adult child, is that supposed to be a oxymoron. When an adult enters into a contract they are obligated to see that contract out, if it's a child then you would have had to sign for him thus making it YOUR responsibilty to pick up the bill. Good luck trying to explain your case to a lawyer dumb enough to take it.

Unless it was their older child who was not authorized to change things but they let him/her anyway now parents have to pay. I agree though, adult child is kinda unclear

ok .. lets do a *what if?* analogy here..

What if your car was stolen.. You did not report the theft to the right people.. and the thief crashed it onto the front of Starbucks. The financial responsibility would be on you and your insurance.. as you had failed to report your car stolen.

Had you called.. Starbucks would have to eat the cost of the repairs..

same thing. If you fail to let the right people know your phone was stolen(or even the SIM) and it crashes into egypt callwise, (this is a visual only..) it is still your responsibiilty.

JDewey00, T-Mobile policy states that if a person can verify an account (name, number, last 4 of SSN) they can make changes unless otherwise indicated.
( I am sorry that you had this bad experience with one of your kids however)

I thought the same and still do but didn't want to call em out. But since it's out in the open, yeah too many holes, I can see through that and I'm not even Sherlock Holmes.

t-mobile does require that the actual account holder be present when adding a line, a copy of a government issued id is required also.

as far as changes you must either be able to verify the account and personal info or be a authorized user. no id required

now if this person activated the account and used it while YOU knew about it and didnt immeaditally try to have it stopped you may still be at fault.

Re: Fraud Victim! Need Help $5768 Phone Bill!!

Hi My name is Musai Tesfai I think you are having the same problem I am having . I just got a bill of t mobile worth of 17453 dollar just for the month of bill period of jan 20 to Feb 19 of 2008. Called t mobile many times but no solution . I did tell them that I did not made any of these calls except one call but their response is just like yours pay it. My monthly bill for the last 2 years is 29.99 plus tax and other service. I think there is some think wrong with this picture. I am thinking getting a lawyer and you should too.
