Alrighty, got the unlock code via e-mail and it stated once I get the other SIM card -- in this case Cingular's -- I should put it in, punch in the unlock code and the phone will work again. Is this correct, am I missing anything? Now to order Cingular tomorrow and give my deployment orders to T-Mobile to get them to can my service w/out the cancellation fee

This is correct. Now that your phone is unlocked you can use it on any GSM carriers SIM card, wether its Virgin Mobile UK, Vodafone, Orange, Idea GSM, T-Mobile Europe etc.
You could definately count the number of V980 users in the US on your hand, and your looking at one

    Equipment:
    Motorola V980 (Unlocked) Vodafone 3G
    Motorola V600 (Unlocked) ATT Wireless

    Companies:
    T-Mobile (USA)
    Idea GSM (Poland)
    O2 (UK and Ireland)
    Orange (Rest of Europe)
