Ordered my razr over the phone and got it last week. The seal on the T-Mobile box was broken and the angle connector and the euro adapter were missing. (pg. 11 of the manual clearly says the angle connector is provided with the phone). I immediately called them and they wanted to send me the 2 parts, but I insisted I want a brand new phone in a sealed box (because there was also a crack on the plastic of the red "Power & End" key). So they said no problem. I just got the phone and the same two things are missing from the box and the manual is all creased like someone's been reading it. And this box didn't even have a seal.
So, before I call T-Mobile and rip their heads off, I wanted to know if someone else had a similar experience. And if someone could tell me what the euro adapter looks like (is it a separate plug, or is it just an attachment to the US plug).
    Thanks
    Renee

    complained again

Yea, I went ahead and complained again...got the same runaround - "we gotta process the claim, that will take 72 hrs. Then one of our supervisors will call you and we'll take it from there...."
    Grrr, so frustrating!
Alen, I just took a look at the d500 - looks awesome! I had no idea TMobile has them. If I knew, I probably would have gone with that one instead. I had a Samsung and it was the best phone I ever had...but my dad liked it so much that I gave it to him...and at that particular moment I couldn't find any Samsungs that I like, so i chose the Razr. Lets hope that dad likes the Razr too.....lol....an excuse for me to get a new phone again in a couple of months

Wanna hear what I was told?

The TM rep told me that if I order a RAZR from TM direct............they cannot guarantee that it will be BRAND NEW....they say it MAY be re-conditioned. Thats what may have happened to those that got incomplete boxes sent to them. I think its ABSURD that TM would NOT send new phones.........

Refurbished equipment is only meant for replacements, they should not be shipping those out in place of new units...no way.

I KNOW, but when I said that to the rep, he either doesnt know what he's talking about OR he let the cat out of the bag by telling me something I shouldnt have heard!!!!!!!!!!

    No way, really?

I can't believe that, that's rediculous! Sounds to me like Tmobile doesn't even have a contract with Motorolla...I bet they have a contract with Cingular where Cingular sends Tmobile their Razr leftovers and rejects.
Anyway, the whole thing really upsets me! (not to use the p.o. word, lol)

I dont think so because the backs of the bodies of the phones have the carrier names engraved, so Im sure TM has a contract with MOT.

    the conspiracy theory

No, I know. I was just... inventing a possible scenario, lol....to explain the rediculousness (real word?) of what TM is doing (if the rep was correct about the refurbished phones). But, anyway, if they are refurbished, they still must have come from somewhere....
Was Cingular the 1st to carry the Razr? It was here in the NY/NJ area, but I don't know about the rest of the country?
If it is true, it's probably like this: TM will probably 1st get the refurbs from Cingular, and once those are all sold out, they can start selling the brand new ones. Moto could have just made extra lids for the refurbs with a TM logo.

if you get a replacement for a defective device.. you MAY get refurbished (meaning they gut the phone and rebuild it)

any phone sent out in a kit (as in brand new to you ) is a new device.. not refurbished.. unless motorolla is doing it.

    Update

    OK, here's an update.
The supervisors never called or emailed after 72 hours, as promissed. I wait a week, call back, explain everything and the rep tells me the same thing "I'll put in a request for this to be reviewed, and a supervisor will contact you within 72 hours." So I told him thats what they told me last time, and I want it handled differently since no one called back. He assured me they would this time, coz he'd make sure of it. So, I let it slide, and a week later, still no call from a supervisor.
This is not only about the accessories now, they can't seem to find the orignal phone (that was cracked) that I sent back to them. So they said they'd call me back about that too (I have Fedex Receipts and all, if they ask), because I did send it back and I'm not going to pay for an extra phone that was damaged. Plus, since it was them who sent me the damaged phone, I don't think I should have payed for the Fedex shipping either, but oh well...

Anyway, this morning I get a package from TM with a regular charger in it. Why a charger, I don't know? I requested the angle connector and a european adapter, not the actual charger.
I must say, TM has become really disrespectful to their customers, they have reps that don't know what they're talking about and sound like you just woke them up. When you ask them something they just say "I don't know that", instead of saying "Can you hold on till I find out" When I told the reps (on both occasions) I want the angle connector, they said it doesn't come in the box. When I told them to open to page 11 and 12 of the manual (which is printed for TM), both of them said they're having trouble opening the PDF file. What BS!

I've been with them since 1999 since Omnipoint and they were always excellent, but lately they're just terrible.
What do you guys recommend I do? Who can I call to get some straight answers and who do I call to put in a complaint about their service?

WHOA!! that is way wrong, t-mobile does not get refurbished phones from different carriers, and, unless you dont already know, the cingular razr and the t-mobile razr are different, the softwares are different (hence the video cam on t-mo's version not cing's). Cingular did pick up the razr first, but it doesnt mean t-mobile got it from them, that would be retarded, on both carriers parts. And motorola doesn't make extra "lids" just for branding, they would make a million phones and 2 million covers, that would also be retarded. No doubt your situation with t-mo currently sucks, but the only time you will get a refurbished phone (and its not even all the time, its only on some occasions) is when you claim insurance, or get a warranty exchange.
