I emailed TMobile but maybe someone here can give me a quicker response. I have an unlocked Nokia 6680 which I have been using overseas and now I want to use it in the States.
I don't like Verizon charging me daily fees whether I use the phone or not. Cingular doesn't have many incentives for usage but would go that way if I had to.
Here are my questions about TMobile's prepaid plan.
1) I have 3 phones and dont want another. Can I just purchase a SIM and pop it in my phone?
2) Are there any taxes due monthly or any monthly fees after I purchase a card or minutes?
3) If I buy a $100 card will it remain valid for one year or until it runs out of time? Meaning, if it takes 3 months to burn up the minutes are there any hidden monthly fees?
4) What is the cost of the SIM?
5) What is the activation fee?
In a nutshell, I'm looking for a provider that will sell me a SIM, let me buy some minutes, talk until I need to buy more, without a bunch of monthly fees. Is this possible with TMobile?

1) Yes. I would recommend going to any T-Mobile Retail Store, use the following link to find the store nearest you.
http://locator.t-mobile.com/locator....storeLocations
NOTE: only the stores with YELLOW BOXES and a Pink "T" are actual T-Mobile owned stores
2) Only sales tax due at the time of purchase. After that, NO.
3) You have 1 year to burn up a $100 card, which gives you 1000 minutes. If you use the 1000 minutes before 1 year, you will have 90 days to refill your phone with minutes. This is true of any minute card, you can go up to 90 days with 0 minutes.
4) A SIM costs $20. But that is only buying a SIM card. You would not be able to do anything with just spending $20 on a SIM card. Which brings me to your next question:
5) The activation fee is $50. Activation includes a SIM card, your new phone number, and the first 150 minutes (which expire in 60 days).
