Just wanted to let you know...do make the exact same thread in two locations. One will be deleted, and since this is the correct place to post it, I deleted the other

it shouldn't charge you for text because if you dont have text its just like 10cents a piece, unless you need the internet to download it then you need the internet lol

Exactly right, you are being prompted to get TMobileWeb because you need that in order to download your ringtone. If you would like to save money, invest in a data cable to transfer your ringtones to your phones without using the internet.

yeah, get the data cable for oyur computer and that is sweet. its what i am using with the razr and ill never pay for another ringtone or wal paper again. you can also just go to the t-mobile website and then u can send the ringtones to your phone that way. that only cost like 1.50 for the crappy tones and 1.99 for the good tones. then you just have to pay the .10 cent chage for getting the text message on top of that.

Hey can anyone please explain how to use the data cable to get ringtones? And does the data cable that came with the ROKR phone that's used to hook up to Itunes work the same way? Thanks for your help.

not sure about the ROKR, but i am sure if you look around for information about motorola phone tools, you will find what you need. it allows the transfer of files from your computer to the phone and vice versa. just look at the stickys at the top of the forums and u will see how to do all of this.

well, there are different data cables for different phones. if you have motorola, then you can use motorola phone tools to transfer the stuff. u can get it free, u just have to look. the data cables r like 12 bucks form the internet, all you have to do is google data cable and your phones name. it will give you many options.

wow thats great 12 bucks?! i am wondering if maybe i should even bother looking it up for my sidekick2, i dont know if its worth it cause from what ive heard is, you cant transfer anything from comp to phone, basically making the usb port useless. whats ur take on it? u think i should even bother?

well i believe that mpt is for moto phones only. and form the little searching i did the sidekick is a t-mobile brand, which is wierd to begin with, but i dont know it would work on it. i know of a few other programs that allow getting into the phone, but i dont know about them either. i go to ...wmotomodders.net for all my information on this kina stuff, but they handle moto only. so if you have questions for stuff with moto, go there and they will be able to help you better then me. they have great noob guides to modding and everything else. as for the sidekick... i got no clue man.
