Alrite, heres the deal.. i currently have 2 phones, one with tmobile ( my sidekick ) and the other with sprint ( new sanyo 9000 that i paid 450.00 for ). Now, sprint has a way better plan, 6pm nites, 1000 minutes all for 45.00! YET tmobile has the 1500 minutes, which basically the sprint 6pm nites equals out to be 600 extra minutes.. so sprint gives u 1600 minutes for 45 bux and tmobile gives u 1500 minutes. basically sprint wins that one. now, i dont want to use 2 phones but if i have to i will. i want to use my side kick for everything but my sanyo is brand new, i just bought it last month and dont want to give it up just yet, i kno i can get well over 350 for it on ebay, but i dont want it. it makes up for wut the sidekick dont have, eg, wallpapers, the lil man that walks on my screen, mp3 player, ringtones FREE, etc.. so.. wut would u guys do.. sell ur phone OR just keep both..AND heres part 2 of this question..

where i cant and dont wanna cancel my contract with sprint ( at least just yet).. should i keep the sidekick AND sanyo and have 2500 combined minutes, for 100 bux..( i was paying 90.00 with sprint for internet, text, etc) i took off ALL those features and kept basic 1000 minutes 45.00... so now, both of the phones will still equal 100 bux AND i get the internet and wut not..OR should i keep sidekick for data only AND sanyo for the plan... hm, im not a business plan so i dont really NEED 2 phones BUT.. i guess it owuld be ok to have 2 phones? i just hate the hastle of carrying too phones around all day...plus my sanyo is REAL LOUD with the volume..wut would u guys do

    See More: 2 phones..?

Renizay, if you can afford to keep the two plans then that's what I would do.

Use one mainly for text messaging and the other for voice during the day and the one with early nights, use that for evenings after 6pm. And as long as people that know you, know to call the early nights number, not a problem.

What people I know do, that have more than one phone with more than one plan, is to have friends call one line only, family another line only and they text with which every has the better text messaging plan (normally the one with a keyboard style keypad). That way they never go over their plan's mins. But then most of them are having work pay for one or more of their plans.

If one of the plans works well enough to cover all your internet, texting and voice needs, then downgrade the other to save money, if money is an issue at all, and once the contract is up, cancel the one that does not serve you as well as the other does.

Or flat out pay the ETF and dump the one plan that does not cover all your needs, and bump up the plan that would more than cover the dumping of the other plan.

    Grandfathered Plan

    Renizay

According to sprintpcs.com, it would appear that you have a grandfathered rate plan. The cheapest plan with 1000 minutes is $55.99. A two-year contract is required to get nights starting early.

If I remember correctly, the old 1000 minutes for $45.99 monthly with Sprint did not include free roaming. You may want to double check with Sprint on that.

    With T-Mobile, $49.99 gets you:
    1500 minutes
    Unlimited Nights starting at 9p.m.
    Unlimited Weekends
    Nationwide Long Distance
    Nationwide Roaming

The $19.99 Sidekick Add-On feature gets you:
    Unlimited Internet usage
    Unlimited Text and Instant Messaging
    Unlimited Email

Additional benefits to choosing T-Mobile include:
-#1 ranked customer service by J.D. Power and Associates 3 years in a row
-Referral program, $25 for each friend/family member you refer
-Upgrade program (new phone every 12 months)
-Ability to switch your phone without ever calling T-Mobile (just pop in your sim card to any T-Mobile phone)

RR. i do infact have 45.00 for 1000 minutes AND free nites/weekends/long distance etc. u are right, i had to sign for 2 years, which i just realized by looking at my original reciept. also i paid 10.00 for nites at 6pm. its 5.00 extra for 7pm and another 5 for 6pm. all together my bill is 55.00-60.00 with tax a month. thats the thing, my sprint has a WAY better plan BUT tmobile has unlimited data AND i wanna sidekick for ALL my calls. i think i am just gunna keep BOTH phones. also
the sanyo9000 is REALLY nice and im not ready to give up a phone i just paid 450.00 for LAST MONTH. im so confused. i guess its best to just keep both and then get rid of one. i hate carring 2 phones around but hey, wut can it hurt, i think of it like this.. for about 100.00 a month i get 2500 MINUTES/free nites 6pm/unlimited data... whos betta than me? lol.. see it works out, i guess... if i only talked THAT much, thjta would be great... well, in the summer i do cause im out ALL the time.. i hate talking on my phone in the house cause my mother is like a spy and listens to my EVERY word!! =( i hate it.. but thats another convo and post for another time... thank u ALL so much for ur input.. i love this site!!!! everyone is SO nice on it!!! =)

Oh hey, no doubt you got 1000 minutes with a base of $45 monthly. I remember when Sprint had that plan. T-Mobile used to have 1000 minutes for $39.99 LOOOOOOONG TIME AGO..... Then it went to 1000 minutes for $45.99... And I remember comparing Sprint's plan to ours. The Sprint one did have the early nights (with 2 year agreement) but did not have free roaming.

your right rr, Sprint does not have free roaming. Which doesnt matter to me cause i always have great reception in boston, never ONCE had a failed/dropped call OR went into roam. My sanyo9000 goes into Analog roam, do u kno wut that means? cause i dont, but i do know its something good. lol.. thats the one thing i HAVE to find out asap. Yeah i did get that sprint plan back in July, they changed the plans rite after i got my phone, about 1 month after. So i was lucky enough to sneak my way in there right before the change! I have decided to keep BOTH phones and just use both as phones and have 2500 minutes combined for 100 dollars, with unlimited everything.. Isnt that a good idea? yeah, maybe i do have the hassle of carrying around 2 phones but it isnt so bad cause i carry around everything i own anyway lol.. just bein sarcastic. Seriously though, whats the big deal, an extra phone, i keep them in my bag anyway.. so ya kno? to me, its actually good, i have a back up phone incase one phones battery dies.. =)
