ooooh, whoa whoa whoa, my plan has FREE roaming with tmobile? thats so good! geez, i didnt know that.. THATS why its less at sprint... too bad i dont roam tho lol..
fortunatly, i have great reception everywhere with tmobile/sprint.. so roaming isnt really nessasary.. but its good to have JUST incase i travel or something..
Richie, would u happen to know how i could tell if im roaming on my sk? I read the manual back to front and it doesnt say?!?!?! I do have a symbol constantly on my screen that looks like a G with full reception bars... could the g mean roaming? no, right...it would be a R or something, wouldnt it??
Being a smartaccess customer isnt so bad, cause you dont have to worry bout ever going over ur minutes... do i have a limit on my account now, that u would be able to guess? Using non smart access customers as reference of telling ...

Don't forget that sprint's plan is also a local plan. Meaning that even if you remain on the Sprint network, but travel outside your local area, you will be charged.
Your T-Mobile plan allows you to use your phone anywhere!
Smartaccess customers actually do have to worry about going over there minutes. Smartaccess customers who are over their minutes come into my store all the time. Remember that when you go over your minutes, you start to get charged per minute. This per-minute charge can add up and skyrocket quickly. When a smartaccess customer has a total account balance of $150 or more, they're phone goes on suspend until they make a payment to get below the $150 spending limit.
Remember:
#MIN# Send = check minutes used
#BAL# Send = check balance
#MSG# Send = check messages used
#PWD# Send = resets your voicemail password to the last 4 digits of your phone number.Last edited by T-RODRIG30; 02-15-2006 at 01:31 PM.

Now, I'm not sure if it is in Boston but, there is a plan called Take Control, which in Dallas, requires every Smart Access customer to be on it. You can't go over your minutes, but you can still purchase more at a $.10/min. rate by buying T-Mobile To Go refill cards. The upside is that you aren't getting really high phone bills because you aren't paying $.35 to $.40 each minute you go over.

RR...
Unfortunatly you are wrong about the sprint comment. If i was to travel to another state, ( ANYWHERE iN THE USA ) it is free, its the same as being here in Boston. No extra charge. Its part of my plan, that i do know, i have the customer contract/agreement right here in front of me. I made sure of that before i even bought the phone. That was a main reason i went with sprint, cause my best friend ( who died ) was in Pennsylvania, and was visiting her and wanted to make sure it would be free out there and i was assured by managers upon managers that it was on my plan.
Its possible other plans do not include this but my 1000 minutes for 45.00 plan does.R.i.P MB.LD.AA

Richie.. I was wondering if you know about Tmobile offering 7pm or 6pm nights ( like Sprint currently does. They charge 5.00 extra for 7pm and another 5.00 for 6pm <~ meaning, if you want 6pm nights, it will cost 10.00 ). This is what ive discovered about 2 weeks ago, im not sure if i told you this before.. but here it goes, bare with me, i have a difficult time explaining myself correctly.. so let me try my best here...
Sprint gives me 1000 anytime minutes free n/w at 9pm for 45.00
for 6pm nights, i pay 10.00 extra.. making my bill 55.00 plus tax = about 60.00
Tmobile gives me 1500 anytime minutes free n/w at 9pm for 49.00
NOW... HERE COMES THE TRICKY PART, MATH!!
the 6pm nights i get with sprint equals 600 extra minutes per month.. meaning, im paying 55.00 for 1600 minutes!
I pay 1500 for 49.00 with Tmobile... meaning Tmobile has a better deal and the 6pm nights is not that great of a deal when you put it into perspective in Math terms.. basically, your better off getting Tmobile for 49.00 rather than paying close to 60.00 for an extra 100 more minutes...
JUST MY OPINION...does anyone else agree? Did i explain this correctly? If not, let me know and i will re say it lolR.i.P MB.LD.AA

Renée, It's really going to depend on when you make the bulk of your phone calls.
If you make the bulk of your night times calls between 6pm and 9pm, it may very well be worth the extra 10 bucks. But on the other hand, due to your schedule and the people that you call in the evening, you find the the bulk of your night calls are after 9pm then you'd be wasting that extra 10 bucks to have nights at 6pm.
So for you Renée, since you have both, it would be interesting to see which plan works best for you in say the next 90 days. Keep a ongoing chart of your calls after 6pm and your calls after 9pm. And only use the 6pm phone for 6 to 9 calls and the 9pm phone for all calls after 9pm.
I mean since only you would know which works best for you.
For me it really doesn't matter, with 1500 mins I'm not about to fall over my limit.
Or cheat and use the phone bill (since it will have time and date of the calls) heheh

As far as T-Mobile having nights starting early, nope! It is talked about in this thread: http://cellphoneforums.net/t195390.html

Thanks for the link Chris..
Blk.. i dont even need to chart my calls since i use my phone pretty much throughout the entire day, mostly in the day before 6pm.. I have two phones, sprint with 1000 minutes and tmobile with 1500..so i have 2500 minutes all together, for 100.00 a month! works good for me =) lol... so charting my calls, dont matter, i have enough minutes to never ever EVER go over..R.i.P MB.LD.AA

Renée,
Well as long as it's all working out having two plans with two phones.
One day someone is going to out with a phone that allows you to put two SIM cards in it and BOTH will be active (even if their from diffenrent carriers), and will ring when the number connected to it is called.

Since I'm the customer from December and it would remove smart access off of my acct within a year would be this year December of course only if I made payment on time in a year. As for beyond airtime overage is at .35-40 cent per minute? I'm being charged at .20 cent per minute after I went over 300 minutes, according to my t-mobile statemen even I'm smart access customer. Boy I can't wait this get to remove in this December. (Shrugs)

Re: T-Mobile Rates Update
UPDATE:
The Get More 1500 minutes for $39.99 is back for a limited time. Around Feb '06 it went down to 1000 minutes but now it's back up. Still no N&W's, only 1500 minutes.
Also, the Regional 3000 whenever minute plan now has Nationwide Long Distance for $.10 per minute. Which now is also available for Take Control customers, who before could not get the Regional 3000 minute plan.
