Does anybody know which phones can be used as modems? Or does anybody have a list of them.. I'd like to get a phone that I can use as a modem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Just about any newer phone "can" be used as a modem. Your best bet is to have the phone data-enabled, have a data cable or wireless connection to the computer with the appropriate drivers for the phone, and a data plan from your provider that allows tethering your phone to your PC. In general cell providers try to shy away from this or don't advertise, or don't support it at all. This is because they sell a specific data plan with a PCMCIA card for your PC, that doesn't use your phone at all. Tmobile offers such a data card plan. I'm not sure if they still support tethering. I would call and ask. Avoid anything that is unsupported by the company. Anything that inloves a "hack" could end you up with a very expensive data bill on your phone bill, and probably violates your terms of service. Which could also cause a very large cancellation fee.

Do you know if I could use the sidekick II? I just ordered one and I notice they had data plans for it, but wasn't too sure if I could use it. But if you can get back to me on that, it would be great.
