Arghh I am so mad the person at t mobile said that it would be easy for me to get my old number back ya right. My old phone was under my dad's name and recently that contract ended so i was just paying monthly anyways today I went and bought a phone and got a contract in my name and I asked the lady if I can still get my old number and she was like yes just cal 611. Anyways I did and now they are telling me that I can't get my old number until the 16th which is when the billing cycle will end and then I have to wait 24 hours and then be chardged for 15 bucks! I am so mad this bites! Sry I had to vent!

You can still avoid this... ask if you can do a change of responsibility instead...Once you do that, return the phone for the new line you just activated...no $35 activation fee and no $15 for mobile number change either. However, you will not qualify for a discount on a new phone AFTER you've done a change of responsibility. So my suggestion would be to get a discount on a new phone BEFORE you do the change of responsibility.

Can you just use the old SIM in your phone and continue the account? If not, worse case scenario is $15 and 2 weeks. Maybe they need to wait until the end of the billing period to release the number. BTW, what is the $15 charge for?

I bought a new phone with the plan so I could get a deal since my old phone is crap now. the 15 bucks is for the charge of changing the phone number [ which is so retarted since the phone number would only be like 2 weeks old]

why is it retarded? what would an individual get themselves into that would make them change their number after 1 day?

what's more retarded is why you didn't just do a change of responsibility, you'd have your number already and would not have gotten charged anything.

you probably would have gotten a lower price on the phone as well if you'd done a 2 year upgrade and then the change of responsibility. not to mention, not have to pay the $35 activation fee, as well as keep any grandfathered rates and features.
