Hi, i just got a new phone about two weeks ago. Ever since the day i got it, i've been getting daily calls from a number that has an area code that isn't even in my state. I have picked up twice just to tell them they have the wrong number, but there is never anyone there. So, my question is, Can i block this number from calling me? Is there a fee to do it?

Any and all help is appreciated.

About the only thing you can do is this... Put that number in your phone book and add no ring no vibrate to that number in the phone book, that way it always goes to your VM and does not ring on the phone.

The other option is to change your phone number, but since phone numbers get reused, it might happen with the new number from other people calling it.

Here is what MIGHT be happening. Who ever had the phone number before, has be ducking their creditors, and they were using the cell phone as their "main contact number". Once any phone number gets on a list for credit collections, it's going to be years before it stops if ever.

This is one of the reasons, aside from keeping a number that they have had for years, that people port their numbers from carrier to carrier, to no have to deal with old number "history".
