Yes, it should work fine. The only difference is HotSpots which not many people need. I actually have the $29.99 Internet Add-on, but I only pay $15/mo. for it(benefit of being a dealer ).

    Re: Blackberry plan on mda?

I just talked to Tmoblie people here...I asked if I got the MDA if I could get the 19.99 price. They said no, because the phone was wifi capable?

Could someone please explain this to me? Are they charging the extra 10 dollars because you can connect to your home network for free, or because you can connect at boarders? Or are they charging you to use THEIR tmobile hotspots? What are these and where are they?

I would buy the MDA if I could only pay $19.99 for internet instead of 29.99...

but they seemed tothink that was impossible.

    thanks guys.

What you do is, purchase the T-Mobile MDA without adding on the Internet plan. After that, go online and change your phone to the BB. Now when online, add-on the $19.99/mo. BB plan. The difference is that the BB plan doesn't have hotspots(certain starbucks, borders, airports, etc.).

    Re: Blackberry plan on mda?

SO I could buy an MDA on ebay.

then go on Tmobiles website and change my cell to a blackberry

then sign up for the Blackberry internet plan

then switch my sim card into the MDA, then i would get wireless internet...but no wifi at any hotspots?

Would I still be able to get access to my home network? Would I have access to any wifi hotspots (not a big deal)?

also it would work just like it should on normal wireless internet? Nothing else i would have to do?

    thank you

    Re: Blackberry plan on mda?

Ok I understand what you guys are saying, but my situtation is a little different. I have a BB with a $29.99 data plan and I cant switch to the $19.99 plan because I do not have phone service. I only have data. So would it be the same if I switched to and MDA?

    Re: Blackberry plan on mda?

I had recently asked tmobile, through email, if I could use the blackberry plan with the MDA...
I just now got their responce:

"The BlackBerry feature is intended to allow unlimited data and e-mail
access for a BlackBerry device. There is no indication that it would
work for an MDA as both devices have different requirements for networking
access. Both the BlackBerry and T-Mobile Total Internet feature state
they add unlimited GPRS as a service which could be construed as the
same service but it would not be recommended to purchase a device with the
intention of using a feature with unknown qualities such as data
    access."

Is this company line BS? Have other people done this? Does it work

just being anal and making sure ;-)

Yes there are people who have done this. Now trekdesigns, I'm not too sure it will work without the voice plan, if you can access MyT-Mobile.com then it should work.

MDA had windows mobile, Treo doesn't(atleast the 600 and 650). The MDA is a Pocket PC and the SDA is a smartphone. MDA has touch screen with qwerty keyboard and SDA doesn't.

GPRS/EDGE is wireless internet which ranges in speed. When I do a speed test the avg is around 100-115kbps and have hit a high of 164kbps, a little faster than dial-up. And you're very welcome!

    Re: Blackberry plan on mda?

Interesting discussion we are having here...

After reading all the posts, correct me if I am wrong, you can get a Blackberry and get Blackberry plan and still be able to put the SIM card from the Blackberry into a MDA. Right? Only difference is, you won't have hotspots.

Do they sell a MDA that can hook up to the computer and use it as a modem?

Yes, it's $10/mo. more just T-Mobile Hotspots. It's also Starbucks, certain airports, etc.
