I need to know when t-mobile (USA) will launch 3G! It is the deciding factor between a 3G version and an EDGE version of a phone I am buying.

See More: When will t-mobile launch 3G???

Re: When will t-mobile launch 3G???

I hardly travel to Europe anymore, and I don't think I've ever been to asia in my life. I am not a traveling businessman, I am a sixteen year old student. The problem with choosing the 3G phone, is it does not have EDGE. If t-mobile launches 3G after 2006 like everything on the internet says they will, then I will be stuck using super-slow GPRS for 6 months, and I don't know if I can handle that ( I use data on the cellular all the time ). Oh, if only k800 had EDGE, it would make everything much simpler!

Yes, but you have to be carefull because there are different types of 3G.

WCDMA 1900 (What Cingular is testing out in the major cities.)
    WCDMA 2100 (Japan)

I made the mistake of buying a Z800i a while back thinking once 3G came to the states I would be prepared. Well we arent using 2100 here so it wouldnt of worked.
