Before everyone gets all patriotic on me, I'm just talking about cell phones. So I've always known that cell phones overseas are light years ahead of America, but I was on the T-Mobile UK site last night and my jaw almost dropped looking at the phone selection. It completely ****** all over T-Mo USA, they even have the LG Chocolate. My questions are, am I able to purchase a phone from T-Mo UK and use it here in the states and why is it so much better across the ocean, phone and network-wise?

It will need to support the 850 and 1900 mhz bands to work on T-Mobile USA's network. The 850 is used for roaming and 1900 is T-Mobile's coverage.

    1) They have a lot less ground to cover so expanding and improving their network is much easier on a country-by-country basis.
    2) They don't have the same FCC limitations that our phones do. They don't need the 911 compliance that we do. If you buy overseas, you'll want to make sure it can legally be activated over here. Otherwise...have fun.
