Hey! Newbie here and of course as every newbie I come with hundreds of questions...
I have a Silver Motorola RZR V3 with T-Mobile which does not have the myfaves software since I bought it last year.
I don't like any of the phones with myfaves except for the Blackberry Pearl. Especially after watching demos and reading countless forums and reviews as well as secrecyguy's very helpful comparison to the Sk3, I'm in love with it!
Here is the dilemma: Even though I know it is well worth it, I just can't bring myself to spend $200 on it! Not to mention it will bring my monthly payments up by $20... No, I'm not cheap, just have tuition (among many other bills) that I pay out of pocket...
Wirefly.com, as much as I hate dealing with these companies, has a good offer for a FREE Blackberry Pearl (after a $100 rebate) with a new contract for 2 years which is cool cuz I am no longer under contract with T-Mo.
The problem is I can't take my number with me since it is already a T-Mo number, I'm VERY attached to my number and would love to be able to keep it but is my number really worth $200? hmmm
Or is there some sort of loophole where I can get my new Blackberry for $100 (price before rebates from wirefly) and keep my number and have them tell me that I don't qualify for the rebates since I'm keeping my number? I'll be glad to pay $100
HELP! What can I do to get The Pearl at less than $200 and keep my number?

Re: Hoping for loophole
How long have you had your contract? If it's a two year contract and you've already had it for a year, T-Mobile will take some money off a new Pearl, but not all. It will be about $300 instead of $200. I don't know if Wirefly does phone upgrades, but if they do, then they should give you some of the money off, but not all; and if they do phone upgrades, then they'd give you the same number. I'm just not sure if they do phone upgrades.

Re: Hoping for loophole
Thanks for the post!
Well, I don't have a current contract with T-Mo but I have been with them since 2001 (since the VoiceStream days) so when my contract was up I made the choice to stay with them.
What I'm trying to do is get the Blackberry Pearl for cheaper than the T-Mo upgrade price of $200 by going with a 3rd party company and keep my number at the same time... it doesn't seem like it is possible since my number is a T-Mo number already so I'm gonna have to dish out the $200 if I really want the Blackberry

Re: Hoping for loophole
speaking from experience, if you do go w/wirefly READ THE REBATE INFO CAREFULLY.. i didnt read the fine print and lost out $200 on rebates for my blackberry cause i changed my plan during the first 6months.
