Does T-Mobile offer any free calling plans to Canada? Does anyone know what carrier would be best for this? Thanks.

Have your friends in Canada get a free account at GrandCentral, One Number... for Life. Then they'll have a US number you can call at your normal rates.

Or, they can get a SkypeIn number.

Relatives aren't that technologically advanced. I'm looking for more of a package for a mobile phone.

You could set GrandCentral up for them from there.

Short of this, I'm not aware of any such plans with any US cellular provider.

T-Mobile does not offer a free calling set up for canada, but if you are going to call there a lot, then I might suggest the discounted dialing to canada for 4.99 per month. With this feature you get 55% off of the per minute rate, so instead of paying .20 per minute, it would only be .09 per minute. This is of course if you cannot go with one of the fore mentioned programs, as they are much cheaper.
I hope its obvious that my views do not express the views of T-mobile. Anything I say should be viewed as my own opinion & no reflection on the company I work for.

The Grand Central idea is probably the best idea. I believe you could set up a U.S. number and have that forward to your Canadian cell number. Might take a little work to get set up but after that it would be painless.
