My daughter lost her cell phone this weekend at a slumber party and the ringer is on silent. Is there any way to remotely turn the ringer on so we can find it???

Call the service provider to stop the service you're liable until you notify the service provider to place a stop on the service .. next time get a prepaid service... for kids prepaid service ONLY ... never placed a minor, someone you don't trust or has questionable credit on your account .. if you must purchase the phone they want under prepaid instead

Haha, yea pre-paid all the way. Kids shouldn't be using cell phones anyway! They should be playing with barbies and army figures!

firstly, no, I dont think theres a way to do that, secondly, your instilling bad habits in your kids by buying them phones at an early age and paying the bill for them. no matter your reasons, theres better ways, and your likely to be raising one helluva brat. although, if you contact your service provider they might be able to turn the ringer on for you? no idea.

Honestly, I don't think the OP came here for parental advice. As to the OP, I don't believe what you're asking is possible. Also, make sure to call the service provider and have them stop or at least suspend service on that line so that you are not liable for charges. I do have a question, though, what type of phone was/is it? I ask because I believe certain phones can be tracked more easily than others. Lastly, did she have lock code on the phone?

PHones cannot be tracked, CSI is wrong. and people if you do get your kids a phone, be smart-10year olds don't need $500 phones and if you do get them, don't yell at your service provider when they lose them and you didn't put insurance on them.

Wow at the judgemental! I used to be opposed to getting young kids cell phones but considering you can get the phone for free and the extra line is only $10 per month, it's quite inexpensive.

But no, no way to track it. Unless it was an iPhone and you had the iPhone tracker app installed. Which it doesn't seem like you did. If you have Verizon and their insurance, they will replace a lost or stolen phone. Not sure about the other carriers, but I would check on it if you have insurance on it.

We have GPS on our kids kajeet phones. We've found lost phones by using it. I would highly recommended that you add GPS to any kid's phone as they lose things all the time.
