I don't believe there's any such thing as a tri-band SIM card. I could be wrong, but as far as I know a SIM card is a SIM card. They are not specific to any set bands. You should therefore be fine.

There are no major differences. All SIM cards work in unlocked phone. I mean, the phone can be different in the sense that they have different bands, but the SIM card isn't different from carrier to carrier. About the only discernible difference is carrier's name, logo, and color. Some older or newer SIM cards have more memory than others, which would mean that they can store more or fewer contacts, but overall all SIM cards are the same.
