    Hey all,

I've been with t-mobile for over 3 years now, so I'm out of contract. Basically the Razr I had gotten when I signed up has all but died, half the time the screen goes dead and I have to pull the battery out and reseat it to get it working again.

I'm not a big fan of the phones I see from T-mobile so I was thinking about going to sprint, but I figure if I can negotiate a decent deal on an android phone it'd be ok and cheaper to stay with T-mobile.

What are the chances I can talk them into sending me a MyTouch 3G for free(99.99-199.99 value) while keeping my original plan(300 min 29.99) plus a $20.00 data plan?

I've never had to negotiate with a phone company before so I'm kinda worried about how far I can take the "Im leaving T-mobile for Sprint" statement before they just say "Fine, Leave!"

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Renegotiating Help

Not sure how much this will help, but recently while keeping ATT honest (long term customer there) and finding frustration with data plan costs I looked at some of the other carriers and T-Mobile was very helpful, and somewhat flexible in their offerings.

One thing I did notice beyond the very good CS was that they believe they are already much lower than ATT and do not need to do much more on price etc, but that is not fully accurate etc. An example is that though the air time plans are less at TM and they do offer different options etc currently your paying twice what I am for data on the same phone (no problems with this one though, and about the same age, maybe try a new battery like the BR56 which gives more talk time etc).

I tried to find my notes on this between writing this, but have to go by memory since I can not find them, but I remember they were offering some fairly good deals to switch over so I would expect they would do the same to keep a customer.

I am pretty sure I was looking at approx $100 or less for any of their newer touch or slide qwerty phones, and there was rebates to cover most of the cost for most of the models.

If I find the notes I will post them for you, but I would suggest you explain what your wanting to do, and see what happens first, and then explain your looking at the other carriers (more than just sprint too keep it open) as there are some really sweet deals right now.

And then no matter what they come up with consider the cost difference of buying an unlocked phone and what it would cost to drop in a sim from any carrier that handles the radio bands etc.
