I know this has probably been asked a million times but everywhere I look there is no definitive answer.

What I want to do is get rid of my blackberry 8820 and my ipod touch for one device. I think the best way to do this is to get an android phone except I do not have any need to have internet all the time.

If I bought a MyTouch off of ebay is there any way that i could just use it with WiFi and disable the data or is this impossible.

    Re: Andorid/SmartPhone Without Data Plan

I did a bit of research and lean towards T-Mobile not, yet, requiring a data plan for any devices. T-Mobile has been known as the last one to step up their game...so, I'm pretty sure they haven't yet. (if anyone else finds out otherwise, please post).

I do warn you that not getting a data plan is a HUGE mistake on an Android device. You're almost always connected to the internet, even when you do not know it. Most applications you download will frequently auto update their information. They will also release software updates frequently. You will also sometimes open your internet browser and realize that even once you close it, it takes 30 minutes to fully disconnect...I ADVISE AGAINST NOT GETTING A DATA PLAN.
