Upgrade soon; I need help deciding on a phone.

Hey, I am getting an upgrade with T-mobile soon and I want a more interesting "cool" phone then the one I have now which is the Samsung SGH-T429. I'm kinda behind my friends on the "hi-tech" phones... But I can't afford a data plan. Anyone have a suggestion for a phone I should get? Comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well I can say you that you should search more about the data plans. Why not you find some new phones here Best Mobile Phone | Mobile Phones latest news, tips and reviews may be it will solve your problem.

I really enjoy the nexus one. I think you can still get it direct from google's website. It's not encumbered by all the extra UI stuff that most android phones seem to be plagued with.

No point in getting a high tech phone without a data plan, its a waist of money. Try the samsung gravity T or the gravity 3. Those are high end phone first devices but not smartphones. Dataplans are not required.

you can try iPhone 3 or 4 ,and get afford data plan from google or it's specilal website.
