Hey y'all,
I've been a T-Mobile customer for a few years now, using their Pay As You Go plan with a cheap phone - Samsung T229. I've been interested in making the switch to iPhone for awhile now, and found recently that you can buy a factory-unlocked iPhone 4 straight from Apple. I don't need web features for now, and can't afford them anyway. I do want to consolidate devices though - I've been using an iTouch 2g for a long time as a notetaker and its getting really inconvenient, now that I'm using the phone more, too.
My plan is to take my regular-size sim, cut it down and try it in my new, Apple-unlocked iPhone 4. A lot of people SEEM to know about this and/or be doing it.
So my question is... has anyone actually made this switch??! Is there some hidden caveat I will likely run into?

Re: ANYONE using an iPhone with a cutdown T-Mobile sim???
Thanks for the video, but it doesn't really answer my question.
But, I DID find that the iPhone's 3g connection can't really be turned off. So, it'll be uber-hard to find a way to use it without the possibility of getting charged for Internet use by T-Mobile. I was hoping to be able to just use it as a phone and reserve Internet solely for wifi capability. I can't afford at the present a data plan.
Thanks...!
