I purchased two Samsung Galaxy S2 phone on June 16 under their father's day special, which included rebates of $300 per phone. After sending in the rebate form, I got letters saying that the rebates were denied, because they said I had not purchased them during the eligible period. I called, and after a lot of discussion with two different agents, the second agent said she had corrected the information and I should receive the rebates in a few weeks.
Instead, a few weeks later I got letters saying that the rebate was denied because my account "was not activated in the location specified on the rebate card." I called again, and spoke with another agent. She said she was manually approving the application, and I should get the two rebates in 15 to 30 days. I guess time will tell if that actually happens.
Fortunately, I retained copies of all the promotional WEB pages, screen prints, credit card statements, etc. I also opted out of their arbitration requirement, because I was afraid I might run into problems. I am beginning to wonder if there is a deliberate policy to deny rebates--hoping the customer will eventually give up.

Re: T-Mobile Rebate Problems
Well, maybe the third time is the charm. Today I checked the status on-line, and it no longer displays the two denials. Now the two lines are described as "Qualified Offers" and are listed as "Prepaid Card" to be shipped by "09/16/2012 (est.)"
So maybe it was really just a screw-up. We'll see.

Did you finally receive them like you were supposed to?

Re: T-Mobile Rebate Problems
Yes, I received them in the form of VISA cards. I took them to my bank, and they said they would credit my account. I never heard back from the bank, so I assume the credit went through. Maybe I need to double-check on that.
I'm guessing that T-Mobile just refuses the rebates until the customer gets persistent. The first form I sent in was complete and correct, as was the second. Fortunately I retained all the documents, including a screen print of the order and the agreement.

Re: T-Mobile Rebate Problems
I don't think the companies would purposes cause a problem with the rebate if you followed the requirements. I'm sure they want people to forget about it so they can keep the money, but I don't think they'd try to keep it if you did everything right. It might have just been a mistake on their part somehow. Maybe it was a computer glitch.
I'm glad you got the cards in the mail. Hopefully they went through to your bank account.
Are you still happy with your Samsung Galaxy S2?

Re: T-Mobile Rebate Problems
I guess I would give them the benefit of the doubt if it had taken only two submissions. But when I speak with supervisor who tells me she has approved the rebate manually, but it still does not get approved, then I am a little sceptical.
But I am still happy with the Galaxy S2 phones and with T-Mobile service.
