i think that you won't be able to activate it as it is already linked to another account. you might want to turn it in to a retailer or something. if not already, it'll probably get reported as missing or stolen.

If the cell phone is still active with an account would mean that if you use it the customer would be charged for it. If the customer has reported the phone lost or stolen, there's not much you can do, as this point the ESN is flagged as lost/stolen in Telus' internal database. However, it is TM's policy, that they can't bar an ESN longer than 30 days without a police file number, after 30 days then the phone is finders keepers, some reps may still not activate it knowing it's not yours. If the customer files a report, then the phone is barred indefinitley. It most situations, it may be best just to return the phone to a retailer, some customers give awards for these things, more than likely the customer just started a contract and is not eligible for a free phone and would really like that one back....

Just turn it in to a dealer for whatever company it is with...
call people in the contact list...

for gods sake.. get the phone back to it's owner.. be a man.

Restore somebody's faith in humanity and either turn it in or try to find the owner. Think how you would feel if the situation were reversed. Did you know that integrity was the most looked up word online in 2005?

People don't look up the definition of sex, they look up the 1-900 number. lol.
