a) Bad Advertisements without substance
b) Hidden Charges
c) People in organization doesn't talk the same language - a Cust Rep on cancellation says no dues on cancellation and I get a $250 invoice
d) I complained to BBB on misleading advertisement and harrassment on invoice and they took 50% off
But why the heck should I pay? They were not able to pinpoint on how this $250 was calculated back to terms and conditions, contract on their website.
I still keep getting invoices and it sucks.. I am no longer Telus Customer (I took new Residential Line and Internet Services when I landed in this country) and am now happy with Primus Broadband and Shaw Internet.
Telus really sucks - take my advise - stay away from this stupid company

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
dude you should have read the terms on the contract there is a cancelation fee on very single carrier for cell phones. depending on who you go with it it can cost up to 600 bucks. your lucky you only had to pay 250. pay it dude or your credit will go to **** and then you wont be able to get a new cell phone without paying a deposit.
telus has no hiden charges dude.

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
If a customer representative told this guy on the phone that there was no charge for a contract cancellation, and figuring he is new to the country, how is he to understand what is going on? It's another example of how reps. don't know what the hell they are talking about when you ask them questions, and you end up doing things they tell you on the phone and you end up getting burned for it. I feel for this guy, only because their cus. rep. at the time sucked major ass. It's a good thing though that their reps. are much better. And more intelligent. heh.

Telus sux on many levels...starting with horrible customer reps in stores and on the phone, finishing with one of the crappiest signals among all Canadian providers. CDMA technology is ages old and Canada is one of the 3 countries in the whole world which is still using it....besides Telus is THE cheapest (in a bad way) company ever (people with 6265i will understand me)

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
There is no hidden fees with Telus anything you are paying for should have been explained to you through the rep when you purchased the phone.
And as for the Technologies they are using these because it is a higher security and more privacy.
I like Telus personally i havent had any problem with them.

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
People need to realise that cell phone companies have the right to do whatever the **** they want, without explanation. And it's always in the contract.
I have never had problems with my Telus. I couldn't be happier and would never dream of switching. There's always going to be a problem for someone with ANY cell phone provider, that's just how it is in the cell phone world.
And come on, you weren't expecting a cancellation fee? That's just common sense... what the hell would be the point of signing a contract if there wasn't? The agent probably didn't realize you were still in contract... cause if the contract is up, then there isn't a fee for cancelling your service.
Common sense people!!!

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
On another note, I signed for a phone through Rogers last March for my brother because at the time I was working for Cingular, and got a discount. There has been an issue on almost every bill, starting with the first one. Didn't get 10 dollar credit which I was supposed to get for signing up online, that took about 3 months to get. I was also told I had to go to a store to complete the registration in some way, but when I went to the store, they had no clue what I was talking about. And those were only 2 out of the 10+ things they have done since March which have caused an inconvenience.
Telus > Rogers IMO.

Re: Telus really really sucks - Stay Away
Actually, one last thing to add, then I'm done, I promise!
Half the time when people buy a phone from a cell phone store, they don't even listen to what the store clerk tells them (important points about returns, warranty, CANCELLATION FEE's, etc.) I've seen it where the person is too busy fiddling around on their new phone and everything the store clerk says is just going in one ear and out the other. Then down the road the customer has some kind of issue and says "duh... I wasn't told this!". People need to take some responsibility sometimes instead of just blaming everyone else.
