I bought a Motorola V265 back in October of 2005 so I can say the hell with Bell. I didn’t like any of their plans, so I decided to just buy the phone and use Pay and Talk.

This is the first time I bought a cell phone. The one I had before (Nokia POS) was with Bell and I just wasn't satisfied. I seen an advertisement for the V265 and because I'm a huge fan of black phones and the lack of them, and quite frankly the lack of stylish phones made me jump all over it.

I went into the Telus store (Newmarket ON) and had my sights set on buying it. The representative never told me anything about the phone, didn't ask me what I was interested in.. just plain "oh you want the v265? ok.. let me help you get set up". PFFT! What kind of customer service is that?

Now here I am, with one of, if not THE ****tiest phones on the market (with a butt load of issues with the phone).

They tell me to have the software updated, so I drive all the way to Vaughn to have it updated because Newmarket can't do it. When I get there, the dick head at Telus tells me flat out, they don't do the updates there. Firmly, I told him if he was smoking crack and explained that a Telus rep. TOLD me to come here. Sure enough, checking on his computer he told me he was able to do it. He told me to leave the phone with him and be back in about an hour, not of course before telling me that there was the possibility of my phone blowing up. Now of course my face looking like the guy had two heads... ask him wtf he ment.. me now thinking this guy is a real tool, asks him if that would be covered under my warranty. What does he tell me? We'll worry about it if and when it happens. What a douche bag!

I called a few weeks ago about a retarded text messaging scam ($2 per text blah blah.. don't fall for it for the love of god). I ended up giving up, but the Telus rep. told me because of their new terms, that because I was on hold for about 20 minutes they would credit my account, and that I should see the credit in about a week. Here we are about 3 weeks later, and no credit. Bastards!

Anyways, *jumps.. loud thunder * I asked about sending the phone in for repairs. The guy at Telus tells me that it's going to cost me $25 because I'm not on one of their plans. .. what kinda bs is that? And a $75 deposit for a rental phone *jumps again.. OMG*. Now when I call Motorola up, they don't charge anything except you have to pay shipping and they recommend a service you can track, Purolator, UPS etc. And when I told them that Telus charges me $25, he assumed it was for a phone rental! He assumes 25 and they charge 75. AND is very common for Telus to hold phones and send them in bulk to be serviced. So I could be stuck with a loner phone for a long time until they are good and ready to even ship the damn thing.

I'm not sure what I should do. Should I ship with Telus and get a loner for 75 and 25 for shipping or just pay Puro for shipping? :/

So, you're angry because a SALESPERSON sold you something. You put the onus on them to tell you about the product that you went to the store with the specific intention of buying. Maybe the salesperson thought you had done YOUR research. I'm not a salesperson, but, if someone came to my store and asked for a specific product, I would assume (if they didn't ask me any questions) that they had done the research and were sure that this is the product they wanted.

    Re: Telus: UNBELIEVEABLE unprofessional.

Well, FYI when I went into the Telus store, the rep. approached me and asked me if I had anything in mind. And this was after about 10 minutes of them allowing me to browse their selection of phones. When I told them about the V265 I immediately told them I was interested in Pay and Talk. They made no attempt to try and convince me that one of their plans were better. They made no attempt to go through what the phones features were with me, what to expect from it, NOTHING. Probably because they never knew anything about it, which is why I am saying that Telus is unprofessional in that matter. They should know their phones before trying to convince someone they need a phone. And I understand that I could have read reviews or read the little card that is in store, but a rep. should be the one to tell me about the phone. As sad as it is, I've read reviews that in the States, Verizon actually was telling it's customers that the V265 was one of the worst on the markets. They're honest with their customers and want to serve them with the best customer service they can, so they will come back and subscribe with them again and again.

Now, can anyone give me an opinion on my shipping options? PLEEEASE?

    Re: Telus: UNBELIEVEABLE unprofessional.

Yeha i hear ya..im a Telus rep in a local electronic store...but I have to say...do not blame this on Telus but on the private store or even the salesperson..cuz i know telus tries to teach us as much as they can on the phones and how to serve customers even if we dont work in Telus stores. The salesperson just wanted to do a quick sale...and the motorola v262, v265 and basically all the motorola are crappiest phones ever...even the razor has many issues....shuts down by itself for no reason...sound problems...reception....i know personally i never try to sell motorola....i dont wanna sell a phone that will be returned or make an unhappy customer...seriously if you think about it....For example you say to all yoru friends : that store sold me the crappies phone...i dont think they will ever go there....on the other hand htough...if the guy sold you a decent phone....youd probably put a good word for him.....anyways stupid salespeople sometimes dont know what the hell thye are doing.....cell phones take a lot of research to be good and updated...and if you dont do it...you end up like the salesman you had...anyways sorry to hear you had that bad service....but say this...Telus does not want it that way...its that salesman thats an idiot...
    anyways

    take care

    Dave

    Re: Telus: UNBELIEVEABLE unprofessional.

I surly hope so! Today, I decided to go to the Telus store to have it sent in for repairs as I'm going to need the replacement phone as I wait. I was supposed to pay the $25 to Telus to ship it, but apparently "they" (head office?) decided not to charge me. Bonus! Thanks Telus!

Now, when I get my phone back in 2-4 weeks, my warranty will be over and I'll still have my ****ty phone with the ****ty problems because as it seems, Moto can't correct their mistakes *sigh*
