Hey guys, this is my first time posting so I hope I'm doing this right:

I've had my Nokia 6265i for over a year and a half now and it stopped working yesterday. I'm almost positive it's some kind of programming problem due to the fact that it turns on, but freezes before the main page comes around. I've done everything I can think of to no avail, so i'll be bringing it in later today to see what Telus can do with it.

I've done some research online and apparently this is a very common problem for these phones, youtube even has some videos on the broken phones. I've never brought a broken phone into Telus before so my question to you guys is this:

    A) How should I approach this? I don't want to get screwed by Telus so if you guys have any tips?

    B) Has anyone had this problem before? Is there some secret code I don't know about that's going to magically take the sh*tty out of this phone?

    Thanks for reading :>

I have the same problem goddammit, the phone did this situation before but after a couple of tries it turned on. However last Sunday it froze and I took it off and now it won't turn back on, the exact same thing is happening to my phone in which u described! I went to telus and they said it might be the battery or that the phone is simply at the end of it's life cycle! whatever that means? I also called the manufacturing company for telus and they said the same thing, which sucks because i liked this phone. I will try to find more info on how to deal with this issue, I hope changing the battery will help but if u find anything new please keep me posted, thanks and good luck!

I researched a bit online and apparently this is very very common with these phones. I brought it in to Telus on Saturday and they said it was definitely a software issue. My warranty expired about a week ago (of course) so they offered to fix it for a 49.99 initial fee, + repairs. I'm so over this glitchy phone, I don't think I'm even going to bother. They also offered me a new samsung phone that's usually 200$ for 80$, I think I'll go with that.

I liked this phone, but it was way way too frustrating.

to be perfectly honest, all we need to fix our problem is a Data Cable and the Nokia OS, data cable can is $10-15 and the OS in all honesty should be free.

I paid $25 to activate/transfer service to a new (own) phone and another $10 to transfer my contacts. Oh, there was tax on both. TBH i'd rather pay than deal with customer service. I just want the unpleasantness to end, rather than have Telus ram my bum with their corporate rod.

I still think its unfair that i should use a different phone, while my perfectly good phone; sans the os problem, is going to sit in its box untill it ends up in the rubbish. Its just a waste really. Telus = ****ing wasters.

Had this exact problem with my 6265i, but I read somewhere that telus offered an extended warranty for this phone only until Oct 31 2008 to fix this specific problem only. Except I procrastinated, so I just bought a new phone instead.
