just seeing if anyone had any on advice on dealing with CS for getting a new phone if mine is broken, 17months in on a 36month term. telus customer of 10years so i have alot of free promo's on my contract. Bell has offered me all the same features and a samsung instinct for free on a 2year contract.
i called telus to ask if there was anything to do with getting me a new phone and they said we can start you 36 month term from today and you get a phone at the 3 year price (but not the option of a PDA)
has anyone have any advice on how to deal with them to give me what i want without prolonging contract?

There is pretty much no way they would be able to give you promotional pricing without starting your contract all over again, they would be losing way too much money if they let you do that.

Keep in mind that they don't make any money off of the cell phones, and the subsidized price, Telus is essentially paying it for you since on it's own, cell phones range anywhere from $400-600. They make their money from the contract you sign with them.

Honestly your best bet is to try to find a phone off of Craiglist or use an old phone...because I'm about 95% sure they won't subsidize a new phone for you without you starting your contract over again.

your best bet is to either A: check out the telus website for refurbished phone, or call them and tell them what you've been offered from bell and your willing to jump ship if they don't make you a better offer.

you need to do exactly what the person above me said.
except speak to customer retention. not one of there customer service people. when you ask for them they will probably try to avoid sending you there right away saying they can help you. but tell them that you were talking to one of them already and want to complete your discussion.
there the only people who will actually be able to do anything for you.

there is no way they will give you anything without renwing the contract, my wife just got a new Samsung slyde for $90 taxes in by siging a new 3 year agreement. She was not due for renewal until june 2010. The offer was $150 off the handset price or 200 off a PDA. All in all this is a good deal, we like telus and we're happy (as happy as one can be anyway) to sign on for 3 more years. They gave me the same offer however I'm waiting until the voyager comes down in price since right now that is the phone Im most interested in getting.

I was offered the $200 off a data device only 1 year in to my 3 year, seems to be a common promo.

You could always call them with a rough idea of what you want, and say look roger's is offering me _____ for $0 if i sign with them. call em the next day build on that offer, and so on and so on, ultimately trying to get your free phone. if all else fails, buy a prepaid phone and put it on your account.
or pm me i'm selling an LG voyager
