Changing phones to a smart phone, mid contract.

I'm planning on buying a Blackberry Pearl. I currently use a Samsung SCHU510.

This is what my current plan includes

Since the pearl is a smart phone, will telus require me to change my plan to accommodate this? Or is it my option? I don't plan on using the internet or any of that stuff.

If you are getting a blackberry, you will be required to get a blackberry plan. As far as I know, all carrier's require this.

It's an extra $30 a month.

I work in a dealerership and based on your plan details, to maintain exactly the same service level as you have, you would have to go on the Blackberry Smartphone pack 25 (with no internet service and unlimited text, email, and BB messenger) As you have the Spark 11 plan, it would be removed from the package you have, and the $25 BB plan would be added. You would see a price increase per month of only $14 per month
