I'm in Virginia for 3 months and my telus phone has died...if I buy a cell phone here, can I possibly get it to work with my telus plan?

Unfortunately no, the best option for you to choose to get a working handset on your telus account is to call Telus toll free from a landline at 1-866-558-2273 and explain the situation to you, they may send you a handset, or you could use ebay to purchase a new Telus phone and call the same customer service number to add it to your account

Re: U.S. bought cell phone & Telus service
My suggestion is just to visit a local Wal-Mart, Target, K Mart, Circle K, etc. and purchase a cheap prepaid phone (preferably tracfone due to the low rates) and activate it and use it while you're here...the switch back to Telus when you leave...a United States phone will be inoperable within Canada.
