Get the contract discount on a phone

Hi,
I allready had 2 years ago a very good 3 years basic student contract with Telus with pretty much all the options for 35$ per month. Last year I wanted to change my LG Shine for a Smartphone. I went to the Telus store and asked if I could buy a new 3 years contract (even if only 1 year had passed since my last contract) for a smartphone. I told her I wanted the LG New Chocolate with a new contract and get the discount on the new phone. I stayed with my previous contract specifications and added a data plan, more SMS and Long Distance call options. They said yes.

Now I really don't like my LG New Chocolate, I want to replace it for the new iPhone4. I bought my New Chocolate approximatively 6 months ago along with my new 3years contract.

I want to call Telus and cancel all the options that are not on my contract to lower my apparent monthly payment value. Then I want to go to the store and ask for a more expensive smartphone contract, something like 65$/month smartphone contract for 3 years. Do you think they will accept AND give me the phone discount on the new contract for a iPhone4?

I don't want to pay the iPhone4 full price and I'm satisfied with Telus so far, so I don't mind staying with them.

What do you guys think?
