Well they STILL owe me £100 cash back from a few years ago, and they'd never
do anything I asked until the third time I'd called them. So you must be
very, very lucky.

What makes me laugh is that Jim claims to be a radio amateur, but he
doesn't seem to know how to show MHz (not Mhz, mhz or any other
variation). Or know much about 900/1800 MHz propagation come to that.

Welcome back, Steve..! Well, you're right of course, I just didn't want to
start Jim off on a cycling tour of the 1800 whatever-you-want-to-call-em
cell sites ;-)
Ivor
PS Is despammed working for you, Steve..? Couldn't get into the website
for ages then it started working a couple of weeks ago now it's off again.
Lost mail in the damned thing..

I Ivor, I'm not really here, i'm using a 9k6 GSM dial up around at my sisters.
Moving to Peacehaven later this week, (all being well) so the move will be
taking all my time the next few weeks

I seem to be getting mail, but haven't tried their website,
with only a 9k6 GSM dial up connection, (ED50 on Tesco.Net 01256)
web browsing isn't a practical proposition at the moment ;-)
When i get a chance i'll have a look at it

Re: o2...
Steve,
You should use the 14.4kbps dial string for Orange, it won't cost
anymore, but will be that bit faster, I'm sure you know of it.
If it's because your using a temporary set-up for now and don't have
the time, its understandable.
I pulled up this short note for you:
Orange 14.4kbps dial string to be added in modem properties.
Location of dial string:
control panel, phone an modem options, modems, selcet the bluetooth
link/modem, properties, advanced.
The dial string below goes under the extra settings box in (Extra
initialization commands)
at+cbst=14,0,1
