    Hello there,

recently acquired the w900i from vodafone on an upgrade.
i recieved the phone yesterday, in a very bad state.
box smashed, phone is fine, but not all accessories are there..

first problem: during the upgrade, with the guy i spoke to he assured me it
was black, at the end of the phone call i did reconfirm, and he said that it
    would be black
when i recieved it...it wasnt! (white is just not for me, the phone looks to
    ipod-dy)

secondly when going through the contract i was told the contract was for
only 12 months. (well this guy had put down 18 month, something which im
really not happy with as i wasnt told)

when i have been speaking to voda, not only has it been a considerable waste
of time (at least 1.5hrs on the phone) but i feel very cheated. i do
understand the fact there was no black w900, and maybe the guy just didnt
know that...but the major thing that is buggin me is the fact he put it on
18months and not 12... well i have cancelled the upgrade, they will collect
the phone next week. my quesiton really is, where do i stand?
as ive never had trouble with voda, i didnt feel the need to write the guys
name down (feel a bit stupid about that now, should have recorded to), voda
say they only record 10% of calls, so my call has probably not been
recorded. So basically its my word against this operators word. i feel
basically im gonna get fogged off, so im probably going to leave voda so,
my other query is when will the w900 come out on other networks? ive seen a
website with w900 black on o2, but ive heard this is far east import. should
that be any different from the uk release? im not desperate to have this
phone NOW, but eventually i would like it (in this time i hope it has fallen
    in price!)

    Appreciate any comments
    Thanks

I had exactly the same thing a couple of months ago.

I tried phoning them to complain but soon realised that it wasn't
    getting me anywhere.

I put it all in writing and emailed their customer service team at

    [email protected]

Put all the details in, who you spoke to, when, what was promised etc..

In the end (it took a few emails over a couple of days) they offered to
honour the original agreement and I ended up with a 12 month contract.
The customer service people were quite helpful - I think their sales
people do this a lot so they seem used to it.

Make sure that when they swap your contract to 12 months they keep the
"stop the clock" as it's usually only for 18 month contracts but they
let me keep it when they changed mine.

If they promised you a black phone and a 12 month contract then they
should change it for you (assuming they can get hold of the black ones)

The salesman who promised all this wasn't called Richard was he by any
    chance?

    Good luck

    R

Thanks for your input, theres nothing i can really do, the phone goes back
on monday, they have no idea when the black one comes out, so they cant
gurantee me a price plan and how much the phone will cost.
did manage to get this months line rental free.

now im just deciding, do i wait for the w900i black
or do i find another phone (if i wait the n91 will hopefully be released)

or now...well ive seen the moto v3x...but is there anything else?

    Thanks

am a sucker for SE! when do you think most networks will have this? and what
is with the phones this year, i havent been impressed by any, even when i
had this white w900, it seemed to miss little features (sure in fireware
upgrades this will be sorted) what my v800 has....
