Orange have just phoned me up to offer me 10% discount on my line
rental. Not bad when I have been OVO-Virgin for the past 5 years :-)

I think I should of strung them along a bit more to see what the catches
were. I'm afraid I was too honest
I'm wondering if they are on a drive to keep subscribers- perhaps their
churn rate has gone up

Was it actually Orange or someone giving that impression?
My wife has had a few calls from 'Orange' offering her upgrades on her
OVP Virgin account. That is until they find out what kind of account
it is. It soon became obvious that it wasn't really Orange at all.

Proibably wasn't Orange, more likely to be an independent dealer.

Didn't sound like one of those dealers. The caller was a woman, who had
a slightly 'posh' accent. She knew my name and was quite pleasant. The
ones who usually call 'From 3' are usually the opposite.

Probably the same kind of scam my wife fell prey to a few months back. After
complaining to Orange about these licensed 'dealers' they promised to let me
know the outcome...still waiting.

That would be the bums from Club Mobile again.
Strike back, phone them on 0800 458 4727 (from landline !)
and complain, or just waste their time and money...
Which reminds me, this guy apparently made 25,000 (yes 25k !) calls to
Crimestopers, cos' he was lonely.
Perhaps somebody should give him the above number, although he may be
'inside' for a while now.

If they call from any number thats 0800 their not Orange. Orange calls will
come from 0797....
Ask them to tell you two letters from your password ( 1st and 4th,
whatever). Theres a new system in place that'll let them answer that one,
if they can't or won't they're not calling from Orange and you'll most
likely end up with a new contact rather than an upgrade.

All the calls I've ever had from Orange have come from 07973 100194 which
seems to be a generic presentation number for the whole company.
