    Hi folks,

More than once now, while in her handbag, my wife's mobile has
connected to the web. This is despite being locked. The internet
connectivity on the W550i is activated via a largish button on the
front. This may be the culprit.

Checking her call register, she's been online now for 1.5 hours this
month (internet active while in her purse), but downloaded only about
30Kb. I'm hoping Orange charge by the amount of data transferred and
not by time online. Can someone confirm?

What I'd like to do is find a way to disable the internet connection.
Can I point some of the internet settings to dummy numbers to make sure
    that a connection isn't possible?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Evan J.

You could munge the settings a bit to disable it... but if GPRS is active
(which is the default connection on all phones now) 30kb's of usage is only
equal to £0.09 (Orange charge £3/MB).
