    Re: easyMobile.con - Be Aware!

This is deeply concerning to hear! I had a similiar argument with
easymobile customer services over the 75pence charge. The initial
email stated to me that they MAY charge at the end of the next three
month period. The swines went ahead and charged me for underuse based
on the previous three months and would not accept that their emails are
    both unclear and inaccurate.

I have now closed the account, and have put in all the zeros for the
bank sort code and account number. There was 94p on the account. I
got confirmation from customer services it would be ok do to this.

I can now only wait to see if I experience the same fate!

I've e-mailed them suggesting they remove this 75p charge.. I think
other people should also give there views if they have any.

    Re: easyMobile.con - Be Aware!

I should add that the only real satsifaction I can take from the email
exchanges with EasyMobile over this semi-hidden charge is that I took
up around 1.5 hours of their customer service managers time in
answering my constant email complaints about it.

That would have cost them easily more than the 75p they charged me in
wages, so I got my satisfaction another way! ;-)

No why could the customer service manager applied a little more common
sense and seen this and just refunded the amount!?

I've done the same, but whether they will take any notice is an
    entirely different matter.

Maybe it's to do with not being able to work out what you are going on
about, due to posting upside down and not trimming to context?

I am thinking of letting BBC Watchdog know about easyMobiles rudeness to
    customers.

Or you could do something productive with your time spent in utm.

Have you done anything for the benefit of the users gathered here, recently?

    Nothing, as I recall.

Perhaps you'd like to write to Watchdog about it.

    Re: easyMobile.con - Be Aware!

easyMobile.com are aware of the error made with accounts sent to the
Debt Collection Agency and we have done our upmost to correct this. We
are very sorry for this and we encourage all our customers to contact
us if they have any concerns. We have since manually gone through and
checked all our accounts for errors and have also notified the Debt
Collection Agency. We are aware of the way the agency dealt with our
customers when contacting them in regards to payments and we apologise
for this. This matter has been addressed in house and is being dealt
with. We have implemented a new system which means this error will
never be repeated. Our customers are important to us and we understand
that this error should never have happened.

As for the minimum usage fee of 75p this too has been addressed and all
suggestions have been passed on to management to review. The reason we
have the minimum usage policy is because all inactive accounts cost the
company and we believe it is not fair to penalise customers who are
using our service by raising our call charges to cover this cost. Our
aim is to keep our call charges to the minimum but as the fee is a
concern to customers Management are taking this into consideration.

Making as many people as possible aware of this scam (and it is a scam)
    seems productive to me.

Take into consideration the fact that other networks seem to manage fine.
An account is not inactive if it is used. Even if someone only uses it
once in a few months for an emergency, it is still being used. Even if it
is only used to receive calls, it is being used.

If you mean people not making revenue earning calls are costing you money,
say so. Again, other networks manage. I know where I (won't) be spending
    my money.

Keeping call charges down is of no use to your customers if you take the
    money off them another way.

I find it hard to believe this.

Bear in mind that this "inactive" account could well be receiving
calls and therefore bringing in a lot of revenue, even if there are no
    chargeable outgoing calls made.

Unless outgoing calls are made, there is no billing to do, no payments
to the hosting network and no administrative overhead. Where are the
    costs arising from?

I can see that it will cost money to track low user and raise these
75p charges, but that doesn't actually provide any justification for
    the charges!

Face facts, it's just an excuse to make everyone pay something.
