    Hi,

having troubles installing my K750i as a USB device.
    is it always this tough?

    (1) Installed everything from the CD which came with the phone.
    (2) Plugged in the phone - Win2k couldn't find a driver on the PC or on
    the CD from SE.
    (3) Downloaded the drivers zip file from SE support.
    (4) Started to re-intsall; got the main device installed but blue screened
    on subsequent devices.

Now waiting for the discs to be checked after the crash.

    More later, no doubt.

mine would not work on usb2 so i put it in a usb1 slot and it works fine..
one tip i have found is to restart the phone after you have had it running
usb otherwise next time you connect it nothing is found.

This certainly does not happen with windows XP; very strange indeed! You
could try changing USB port simply, that may help.

Similar probs with my K750i, solved by downloading the USB driver from SE's
website, and installing that only first.
Then my Win XP laptop could at least see my K750i in My Computer, and I
could transfer files to and from the Memory Stick.

Then I installed the other SE software, not that it does much more than
    connecting via My Computer.

Also worth checking out the SE firmware upgrade service.

I abandoned the SE software completely and got a Bluetooth adaptor instead!
    (Different phone and OS, though).

    After reboot it wouldn't start.
    Uninstalled, unplugged, plugged in again.
Found New Hardware now knows it is a Sony Ericsson K750
It is, however, shown under Other Devices instead of with the USB stuff.

Cleared everything out, then reinstalled from scratch, and it went in and
    worked.

Not really impressed though - too much like hard work.

I'd agree there, bluetooth is a lot less hassle than cables (although I
    don't use that OS either).
