Allow me to set the scene... lol

I am currently on an o2 online tariff, i get 1000 messages and 400
x-net anytime mins, this is worth £45 usually but due to an earlier
stuff up on o2's part they decided to let me have it for £30 which is
nice of them! - i use the k750i

i start a job on monday and the company are supplying me with a
blackberry handset and my bills paid for etc. now i have a couple of
    questions.

my original thinking, prior to getting this job was to go for the xda
mini s as my upgrade (next month) but now i have the option of this
blackberry (8700 or something like that, ive not done a lot of research
as there isnt much available) i was thinking of using this and getting
the smallest, nicest looking phone out there on my upgrade on my own
    contract.

does the blackberry sync with outlook etc etc?

could i get an o2 xda mini s or the equivalent on the business tariff
and make it use blackberry? ( i seem to remember there being an option
in my xda2 of using blackberry )

and off on a tangent, which is the coolest, smallest and nicest looking
handset out there todau to upgrade to.

    cheers ears :-)

i didnt really get to the real point of my post... if i go for this
blackberry, will i be able to live with getting rid of the functions of
    the proposed xda mini s?

ideally, id like to get a mini s that could accept blackberry type
emails and get say, an 8800 or a d600 as an upgrade.

I have a works blackberry. Dont understand the techy side, but yes,
the blackberry syncs real time. E mnail arrives live, calendar changes
are instant etc. With mine you need to dock to sync contacts

If you are using the latest BlackBerry Enterprise Server in conjunction
with the handset then expect your email folders, contacts, calendar and
tasks to be synch'ed over the air.

And once O2 release the WM5 update for the XDA Mini-S which supports
push email, and if you have an Exchange 2003 SP2 server at work, they
can support immediate email and calendar updates too.

It's not just Blackberry which supports these things - the Mini-S can too.

You don't have to wait for O2 (or any other operator for that matter)
if you pop over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewforum.php?f=40

    :-)

I should think RIM will see their profits fall a bit once this gets
wide spread deployment - its a very neat solution and the XDA Mini, or
MDA Vario or what ever is a very versatile piece of kit.
