Dunno about SE phones, but my V3i has an option to set video record to MMS
compatible, in other words, 10 seconds of video. You have the option to turn
this off. I would guess the SE phones are the same.

    Correct there Matt.

    Melv,

I have a K750i and the software is 99% the same.
You can select 2 video recording formats, either 10sec limited so that it
can be sent via MMS, or unrestricted high-quality video recording but you
can't send the video via MMS cos it may be a few minutes long!

No can't see any option to set the length.

    Ok,

On mine I open the shutter, then switch to video camera rather than still.
Then select "Settings" then "Shoot mode".

It's the quality mode you change, from low to high respectively.

Must be different on a W800i then. On K750i you don't have a Quality
setting for video, only still. With video, you can control Shoot Mode and
    video size (i.e. resolution).
