Saudi Arabia Mobile

I am being posted to Saudi for 1 month. I would like ot know what is the
best and cheapest method to stay in touch with UK and receive calls from UK.
My partner is also coming with me. So I would like to stay in touch with
him as well. Are there any good and cheap suggestions.

Well since going for a month some of the things you can do you won't be
able to do. When I used to live there ppl used to use call back
service quite a lot. But I think the cheapest (don't know if suitable
for you or not.) is give the ppl you want to stay in touch some money.
Or even a mobile phone they can use. And use the many call through
service to Saudia Arabia.

For example call 0844 4622 323 they can call you for only 2p a minute.
If you get an O2 pay as you go, than the inclusive minutes will be used
to call that number, and afterwards you will be charged 30p daytime, 5p
evening and 2p weekend. Or if you call direct from landline it will be
2p per minute flat.

If you than take an O2 pay as you go simcard as well, you can call /
sms once per week (1 minute call) for free. Enough time to call, say
you are home and please call back

Taking the o2 sim would incur international charges. eg

49p per SMS
99p per minute call

How can you call sms for free?

Also does anyone know howmuch a saudi sim would cost?

on the Saudi Telecom one, look for an English button at the top right,
then Mobile Services, then Sawa Prepaid - I can't do a direct link as
there is a session cookie and it's the longest link I've ever seen
(about 6 times across the page)

It is O2 offer you can send "1" SMS and "1" 1 minute call per week for
free.
