server.

Mailwasher is reporting errors since last night. Seems to have been down
for more 12 hours now.
Orange are 'upgrading' their mail service. Most ISP's seem to do this
with little disruption, but Hey, this IS Orange

Well at least it isn't just me..! I only use the Orange account for the
SMS alerts, I forward mail from my main account there for that purpose
alone, but it looks as though its days are numbered.
All I'm waiting for now is Orange to "simplify" the meaning of "for life"
on my Out Here pack and that really will be me gone.

Indeed I think that the fact that a charge of £0.00 showed they are playing
around with billing for SNS alerts.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to remove that as well. Myself and my
wife have got two 'out here' accounts and I suspect they'll try and remove
it as they expect that people have forgotten about the 'for life' promise.

Are you joking? I bought this for the "free for life" 5 daily text messages,
I haven't had this benefit for 2-3 years. Thought they'd crawled out of this
with small print. Anyone still seriously getting any benefits from this?

Haven't paid for a text message in 6 years. Only ever send 3 or 4 a week.
The POP3 server is still down, BTW (just to get back on topic..!)

Re: Orange POP3 server..?
the texts returned a few days ago - about the time the log in changed
to [email protected]. Previously they had been broken/disabled if
you used another email account to forward to your orange.net address.
They were pretty useless for me though as they didn't have whole
subject line and I'd got used to not having them.
The SMTP server stopped working a few days ago if you were using a
'non-orange' email reply-to address.
The POP server has been down for a couple of days - I'm giving up on
them have redirected to another account and am going to give up Orange
phone when contract comes up because this was the only reason I was
still with them really.
I guess if you pay nothing for a service they don't think that you
value it.
Seems like the ability to text from the website went as well, but maybe
i haven't looked hard enough.

Sorry, to go off topic again but this is important to me for obvious
reasons!
I have occasionally got free messages over the last couple of years, but, I
put that down to computer error in my favour!
Now I'm angry and will spending yet another 25p to ring customer services. I
hope registering for free evening calls recently, has not buggered me!
Cheers

They tried to wittle it down to 3 free a day about 2 years ago but had to
reinstate them back to 5 within days.
Still getting my free texts.

That'll be it. Registering ANY promotion to an account with "Out Here" on it
will cancel the Out Here package.
This includes promotions such as 3p texts for 3 months, free evening calls
for 5 years, and bonus top-up.
....and as it's ringfenced, it's gone forever. Don't waste your 25p.
Sorry!

POP3 server seemed OK just now when I pulled two e-mails onto my
phone. (its set to pop.orange.net)
So you may want to try it and see if it works for you.

Good news. According to customer services, the Christmas free evening calls
promotion did not cancel the Out Here package. This promotion was not a
purchased pack or change of account, so I am ok. They confirmed I have had
free text messages for the last 6 months (that's how far back they could
check this evening). I am convinced that I did not receive them for a long
interval though, so will be pursuing this with Orange. At 12p a message on
the Just Talk account I was rarely texting, so back to 5 a day from now on
and I'm staying on Just talk!
I think it's time for a second phone or dual sim phone though, so I can
avail myself of the 15p/ min all day rate ;-)
Back on topic..... pop server still down
