just picked up my 3rd D600 in 6 weeks from the CPW this morning,3rd time
lucky??
first had a very loose slider, that was changed a week ago for a new one,i
was getting only a day & a half max standby from that one despite just
sending a few texts along with a couple of short phone calls,we'll see what
this new one is like.
great service from the CPW though in giving me new phones with no quibble.

My 6230i really needs charged every night. It struggles to last 2 days with
very moderate use.

the manafacturer says 300 hrs standby, so even when using the phone it
should do better than 30 odd hours no matter how any features it has.

Turn it off when you charge it, I found this meant the battery actually
got fully charged!

Heh, my 6310i needs charging about once every 10 days.
It's survived being dropped from the roof of the car, and falling down a
flight of concrete stairs in a school as well !

I get a lot better battery life than that. Have a look on the Expansys D600
forum - it turns out that one batch had a firmware setting that drained the
battery quickly.
It's a good phone - well, I say a good phone, the phone is the least of it
really. It's brilliant at playing videos, which I find very useful in my
work, and with a card it's a useful mp3 player.
I'd be intereested to know if anyone has got one working reliably with all
the features of the Motorola HT820 headset. The jury seems to be out on that
combination.
Good luck with the new phone

What firmware have you got??
*#0000# tells me I've got v03.40
I didn't think it was the phone as the first one I had (for a few days as it
was faulty) was just the same re battery life.

Hello again aj
Further to my post above, 'Sticky' on the expansys forum
(http://www.expansys.com/forum.asp?code=121031) sums up the battery life
issue like this:
"Poor battery life on phones that have a J as the penultimate character in
their software (*#1234# to check)"

Hello aj
If you look at this Expansys forum thread - and be ready for a long read! -
you'll see phones with that firmware (as you say, with the J second to last
character) are treated by Orange as faulty:
http://www.expansys.com/forumthread....1031&thread=96
You're going to have the problem again - send it back to CPW and tell them
where the problem lies. The specifications of the phone clearly state what
the expected battery life should be and you're not going to get it.
I reckon it's worth it though - I really like this phone. My last was a T610
and I never warmed to it.
Chons da! (good luck)

Having used many samsungs, including the D500 (but not d600) - I came to the
conclusion that Samsung phones are badly thought out, and pretty ****
overall. The pc connection software was disgraceful, and read like it had
been produced by a barely english-speaking Korean programmer.

Yeah but - that's another phone! Never used one. Got no opinions on it. I
don't get your point. Some sort of ideological thing apparently. (About a
phone? Blimey.)

Not at all, it's just irritating when a phone doesn't operate correctly or
has annoying menus etc. It takes people quite a while usually to find a
phone they like, and that suits the way they use a mobile.
