I requested one today but I'm told that I need to write in (as they need to
compare signatures). They also said that I'm on a 30 day notice period and
so the PAC code will not be issued until then.
This sounds like rubbish to me.
Anyone else had a similar experience when requesting a PAC code from
Vodafone?

Re: Geting a PAC code from Vodafone
Hi Steve,
As long as you give enough security information as part of the data
protection act you should be able to get your PAC code from Vodafone by
email.
They usually take 3-5 days to generate and deliver through the post
although if you drop them a line 48-72 hours after you've made the
request it's sometimes possible to get them straight over the phone or
by return email.
The only reason I can think of regarding the 30 days is that you're
currently in Vodafone's cancelation diary. Customer Services would have
to take you out of this diary if they were to request a PAC code (your
number automatically cancels once you port out with your PAC) if you
were still in the diary your number might cancel before they have
chance to port the number.
If might be worth dropping Customer Services an email through the
contact us option on vodafone.co.uk so they can take a closer look for
you.
