My girlfriend would quite like an iPod, but doesn't fancy the idea of
carrying around an extra device with her, so likes the idea of being able to
store music on her phone, which makes a lot of sense to me too!

She can't upgrade until November but at the moment she's got her eye on the
    Sony Ericsson W900i Walkman http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=127043

Clearly because it's got walkman in the name . Is that a good phone for
listening to music? Are there phones from other manufacturers which are as
    good or better?

    Cheers

    Which isn't a phone.

The whole point is that she wants her phone and MP3 player in the same unit.

I love my N70! I find it easier to use than my wifes W800i.

the new N91 has a 4Gb hard drive!

You can get a 4Gb SD card for 70-odd quid these days, if you have a phone
that'll handle one. Solid state has to be preferable, in a phone.

Never used Nokia as walkmans, but the K750, W800, W810 and W900 are great
walkmans IMO, just get a bigger memory card

The N70 takes MMCmobile cards which as far as I know are only available
up to 1Gb (Which is plenty for me (c: )

Nokia 6680 or N70 with OggPlay and a 1 GB memory card is a good combination
