Only because you are on the other side - remember, in another country
YOU will be considered as being on the WRONG side.

You need to remember that not everyone is a computer expert like
yourself. They might not be aware of alternatives. Saying these people
have dead brains just confirms your ignorance.
Just because someone isn't up to scratch with the latest news clients,
it doesn't make them stupid. There was a time when these "newbies" were
welcomed instead of insulted.

That's a really bad analogy. No one is gonna get hurt here, it's not the
law for a start. it's more like people who insist on driving along at
30mph in a 50 zone. Annoying to some, not really worth creating a big
deal over.

Well put! The top poster self-appointed police are at best, just a bunch
of trolls, at worst, complete wankers.

You are entitled to your opinion, but by the same token so am I. Also,
should I know the answer to a question asked, it is extremely unlikely I
will reply with that answer to a persistent top poster.
If you want the answer to a question on any newsgroup, it is a very good
idea to post on that group in the generally accepted format.

Nothing to do with technology. Common sense dictates that an answer FOLLOWS
a question. You have to wonder about those who can't even grasp that.

Exactly my thoughts.

He is perfectly entitled to his *opinion* but if he wants a reply in a
group which by convention does not top post, then he should abide by that
convention.

Common sense I hear you say?
Common sense really down to the person in question. Some people might be
of the opinion that putting the new material at the top is easier.
Rarely is a post ever taken out of the context of the discussion, what
with modern newsreaders that cache articles, and Google Groups.
I had this discussion about 8 years ago, its a matter of respecting
other people and how they like do things. Who gives a damn? I can't be
bothered with any more posts to this thread as I really do have better
things to be doing.

Exactly.
I always welcome top and bottom posters with equal interest.
What pisses me off are the self-appointed (self-important) 'net police
whose limit of intelligence is to slag off top posters.
I suppose I should be more considerate, understanding that these sad
f**kers don't have a real life or aren't capable of proper discussion.
