Want to move to Easymobile from Orange PAYG, and keep the number.
A) Is there any way of calling Orange without it costing shed loads
as I listen to them telling me how important customer service is?
B) What is Easymobile really? Which network?
I make very few outgoing calls or texts but the Easymobile tarriff
looks like it will save me a few quid. Any caveats to be aware of?

From the wonderful saynoto0870.com : 0800 3762285 did the trick.

Easymobile uses T-Mobile.
Easymobile charge 75p every month where the previous 90 days you have
not used at least £5.00 credit.

Tesco is miles better for this reason alone. It also uses O2 which has far
better coverage in most areas.

Yebbut I'll be getting 15 quid of credit for a quid. When that runs out
I can move again.

I absolutely hate the o2 network. Calls sound awful, and i have
experienced awful reliability issues with them. When i ported in a
little while ago they had my number disconnected for 28 hours, and
during the two weeks i was with them i had 2 evenings where calls and
messages were failing big style. My mother is on o2, and i really do
love the message "it has not been possible to connect your call, please
try again later".. I get it rather often!

I didn't have a problem with T-mobile's coverage, just the easymobile
charge! FWIW, T-mobile's new 12p PAYG is very attractive, especially if
your usage isn't enough to benefit from something like Tesco Extra.

Yes this looks okay, but there is a 5p minimum charge, no call waiting
/call diversion or anything.
Also calls to freephone and other special numbers are 40p a min!

That would certainly bump it up. Tesco Extra is 9p (that's if you top-up
automatically) to any landline, mobile, 0845, 0870 or 0800 number.
Tesco has the 5p minimum charge too.

If you want the hassle of moving networks all the time. There are only so
many of them..!

That's O2, not Tesco, they merely use the infrastructure. I've never had a
problem in the 5 months I've been on Tesco. Call quality is excellent and
on the one occasion I had to use Customer Services they were very good as
well.

I don't top up automatically, call volume doesn't justify it. I've used 9
quid since December and 2 quid of that was on an incoming call in Germany
over the weekend.
