Last week I rang O2 about upgrading to Nokia N80 and I said that I had
    seen a particular tarriff that I fancied (Online 500 (750 mins / 750
texts)) but they said because the N80 wasn't due 'til next week (as in
this week) that I should call back then. Anyway called today and they
said that the N80 wasn't in stock yet but if I wanted to upgrade to
that tarriff I would need to get a PAC number from them and contact the
'Online' department. While I was on the 'phone I remarked that I
couldn't see the tarriff offer any longer..., the geezer 'Brian' said
"that particular offer's probably ended now"

What the Dickens is going on?

    Good luck!

P.S. I've also got an Orange account for past 10-years and they are far
    easier to deal with

Standard practise for them. My son had the same.

An indignant email to their CEO <don't have it, sorry>

Will get you an apology + better offer.
